"Hello everyone!! This post is for a couple of reasons…First I need your help!! I started the low copper diet back in Oct of 2019 when I started I couldn’t even go up stairs without a railing and weighed over 300 pounds. Fast forward to today and this is seriously my workout from this morning and my life!!! I did an hour small group training with a personal trainer, followed by a 45 minute 1 on 1 session, then a few things on my own followed by lots of stretching and utilizing the Pilates reformer to do so. So what do I need help with?? I recently have had some flare ups and I think I know why now…as my endurance increases so does the amount of food that I need to eat which unfortunately means I am getting more copper in my body. So I started measuring and eating more often, but what do you eat that is the lowest copper or when you need to be strict? Any tips are much appreciated!! The other reason for this post is to encourage those on this page that haven’t even tried the low copper diet yet🤔…maybe you are new to this page or maybe it looks too hard or you have to give up too many of your favorite foods…I am here to tell you it is LIFE CHANGING do it today!!! Thanks for reading this long post love you all and a special thank you to Lois Schweigert I don’t even want to think about where my life would be now if you hadn’t started this page!!! I am forever grateful 💕🤗💕!!!"

Use your zinc, total copper, and ceruloplasmin blood results to estimate NCC and the copper:zinc ratio.
How this estimate works
This uses the formula in Dr. Purser’s handout: NCC (µg/dL) = total copper (µg/dL) − 3 × ceruloplasmin (mg/dL). NCC percentage = NCC ÷ total copper × 100. Copper:zinc ratio = total copper ÷ zinc, using the same units.
Calculated NCC is an estimate. Test methods and how much copper is bound to ceruloplasmin can affect it. It differs from a direct lab measurement of labile or exchangeable copper. It cannot diagnose fibromyalgia or copper toxicity, or choose treatment for you. Read about the limits of calculated NCC at Mayo Clinic Laboratories ↗

A fast look at the genetic quirks I came across this week, from odd inherited traits to the ones that can seriously affect health. Clear, curious, and a little alarming.
Why are so few people talking about copper when discussing fibromyalgia?
Millions struggle with chronic pain, fatigue, brain fog, and countless unanswered questions.
Yet one nutritional factor continues to fly under the radar for many pe
