Understand the connection

Infliximab, sold as Remicade and as biosimilars, is a prescribed antibody medicine that targets TNF-alpha. It is used for selected inflammatory conditions.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser explains soluble and membrane-bound TNF-alpha, infusion treatment, and why effectiveness can differ between people. He discusses loss of response, antibodies to the medicine, and the importance of distinguishing an appropriate target from an unconfirmed genetic interpretation.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask about infection screening, infusion reactions, monitoring, and whether other medicines change the safety picture. Discuss what would count as an adequate response and the next steps if symptoms return.
