Understand the connection

The insulin receptor helps cells respond to insulin. After insulin binds, the receptor activates a chain of signals that influences glucose uptake and metabolism.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser follows the receptor through IRS proteins, PI3K/AKT, and glucose transport. He discusses magnesium, zinc, chromium, amino acids, and oxidative stress alongside inflammatory signals such as TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta, IL-6, and the gut LPS–TLR4 pathway. These interactions are different from proving that a single nutrient caused diabetes.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask how measured glucose, A1C, diet, medicines, and a confirmed nutrient deficiency fit together. Review treatment and nutrition as a whole; a pathway diagram cannot establish that a supplement will reverse diabetes.
