Understand the connection

Uveitis is inflammation inside the eye. The cause may involve immune disease, infection, or another process, so an eye examination is essential.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser follows IL-12 and the Th1 response into IFN-gamma, TNF-alpha, macrophage activity, and oxidative stress. He also explores the overlap between inflammatory bowel conditions such as Crohn’s disease and non-infectious uveitis. Corticosteroids, steroid-sparing medicines, and selected biologics target different aspects of care.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask how the cause has been established and how vision and treatment effects will be monitored. New eye pain, light sensitivity, or vision change needs prompt eye care.
