Understand the connection

CCL4, also called MIP-1 beta, is a chemical signal that attracts immune cells, particularly through CCR5. It is related to CCL3, but the two signals do not have identical roles.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser connects CCL4 with T-cell and macrophage recruitment and the way local inflammation can continue after the initial trigger. He discusses oxidative stress and antioxidant defenses as part of that ongoing response.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask which result is being discussed: a genetic variant, a measured protein level, or a diagnosed condition. How does it fit with your symptoms and other tests? Dr. Purser discusses antioxidant support alongside these pathways; ask how any supplement would fit with your medicines and care plan.
