Understand the connection

Soluble IL-2 receptor, or sIL2R, is a released part of the CD25 receptor and is also called sCD25. Its level can reflect T-cell activation.

Follow the pathway

Dr. Purser discusses sIL2R in sarcoidosis, granuloma formation, and other settings of immune activation. A high level is not specific to sarcoidosis; infection, other inflammatory conditions, and some cancers can also affect it. The pattern of symptoms, imaging, and other tests supplies the missing context.

Bring these questions to your visit

Ask which result is being discussed: a genetic variant, a measured protein level, or a diagnosed condition. How does it fit with your symptoms and other tests? Dr. Purser discusses antioxidant support alongside these pathways; ask how any supplement would fit with your medicines and care plan.
